Serene Beauty

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

My friend, Josie says that jellyfish have always amazed her and disgusted her at the same time. I have to admit, I feel the same way about them. As a child I had the hardest time swimming in the Black Sea as they were everywhere but undeniably they are exquisite to look at. Aren't those photos serene? There is something about the way they flow that feels totally peaceful to me. I could spend hours looking at them swim. Do you feel the same way? xo

P.S: Here is an interesting article about the giant jellyfish in Japan.
P.P.S: If you have a minute, check out this breathtaking video of Jellyfish Lake, located on the Eli Malk island in the Republic of Palau.

I agree! When you go to Monterey you see hundreds of them along the pier just swimming gracefully in front of you. It is a beautiful thing. Unless you're in a finding Nemo situation. Then it's super scary.

Yes, I am absolutely mesmerized by them and the serenity of their movement! That is actually one of those things on my personal "to-do" list- you know, the one I never get to- to sit in the dark at the aquarium for several hours, just watching the jellyfish!

Amazing photos! Check out the blue jellyfish or Cyanea lamarckii. I've only ever seen it in pictures.

I agree with Alex...they look alien!

Also...I was offered to eat jellyfish in China. I graciously declined!

I'm going to check them out for sure, Josie. Thanks! Btw: I'm totally with on not eating a jellyfish.
